Born in France from Sudanese parents, he found himself stuck in the middle between the two. Although tied to both cultures, he couldn’t fully identify with either of them, leaving him with a need to recontextualize by creating his own fictive nation. Influenced by Sudan, EL TAYEB NATION امة الطيب aims to reflect both the history of the great African country and iitscontemporary identity by exploring the boundaries between art and fashion. With EL TAYEB NATION he intends to empower the wearer, straddling the undefined middle market between art, ready-to-wear and couture with an intemporal womenswear wardrobe that combines Arabic-Sudanese ancestral basket craftsmanship with western military tailoring.
