Tyna Adebowale is a multimedia artist. She has a background in painting, but her current works have expanded to installations and videos. She employs art as a powerful tool for social change. Her works explore issues bordering on gender, sexual orientation, and politics in contemporary Nigerian society, using Nigeria to also mirror other societies with similar stories. In 2017 she came to Amsterdam for a two-year residency at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where she currently lives.
